December 2007: Great news from our sales operations and new market developments at OLC (Europe) Ltd!

The Libyan, General Secretary for Securities and Internal Affairs has agreed to use OLC (Europe) Ltd as their preferred supplier, for UK delivered training, of networking and data security related courses. OLC have consequently, developed a suite of courses that are aimed at enhancing competence in Information Systems Networking and Data Management which fit the requirements of that North African market. Those courses are professional certified training courses with, a predominantly hands-on approach to, skill development and learning and will be delivered in the OLC (Europe) Ltd training centre at the Former Police Station, 66 Castle Street, Bolton. The first cohort of delegates to start in January 2008 has been approved by the General Secretary for Securities and Internal Affairs and the second cohort will follow soon. These orders are likely to open up the market place to new sectors and thus build on our existing share of overseas training for North African and Middle East Companies.

OLC (Europe) Ltd have been awarded the contract for implementation of a quality management system to the requirements of ISO 9001: 2000 at Azzawiya Oil Refining Company (ARC), a wholly owned subsidiary of National Oil Corporation (NOC), Libya. This major consulting and training contract demonstrates the strong and enviable market presence of OLC (Europe) Ltd in North Africa.
OLC (Europe) Ltd's program of open courses and seminars for the 4th quarter of 2007 has now been anounced. The program covers a wide variety of courses and topics including Project Management, Team Working and Negotiation Tecnhiques in addition to a range of Professionally Certified courses run in conjunction with the Institute of Occuptational Safety & Health and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
OLC's partnership with the Institute of Credit Management continues to go from strength to strength. OLC has been awarded 'Premier Centre Status' by the Institute and is now the only education provider in the Northwest offering the full range of ICM Professional Qualifications. Places are still available accross all qualifications (Foundation Award, Certificate Award and Diploma). Once again, OLC staff will be supporting the Medequip 4 Kids charity by undertaking a 45 mile cycle ride through the beautiful Lancashire countryside on the 30th September 2007. Following last year's success (the team raised over £500 for the charity) everyone is looking forward to the event. Apparently.
OLC (Europe) Ltd has been asked to develop and deliver a leadership program for the Government of Sharjah. Working in cooperation with the University of Sharjah, OLC will help to build a 'talent pool' of government employees that will be used in the future as a resource for leaders in Sharjah government departments.
OLC (Asia) Ltd, an associate company, is poised to break into the Chinese and Asian market place. Its two UK based Directors (Professor John Sharp and Mr Derek Hill) will visit OLC (Asia) Ltd's third Director Mr Xindong Fu, during August and September 2007. That fact finding visit will encompass high levels discussions with Chinese governmental officials who are keen to work in collaboration with the OLC group of companies.

November 2007 - OLC Take Centre Stage at Industry Conference
CreditUpNorth is the premier event for the financial sector for all things credit related and OLC (Europe) Ltd will have a major precence at this event. Tuesday 5th and Wedensday 6th November at the Manchester GMEX exhibition centre will be host to thousands of credit professionals and OLC will take pride of place delivering training with the Institute of Credit Management North West branch. OLC will be running seminars on topics such as Telephone Techniques, Strategic Credit Management and Developing a Credit Policy. Later, on Wednesday evening, OLC (Europe) Ltd and the ICM NW branch will have a table at the charity auction event and dinner dance in the Midlands Hotel, Manchester.

November 2007 - New Member of the OLC Team
Sean Garry-Madden joins OLC (Europe) Ltd following a distinguished and long career in the Royal Air Force (RAF). An aircraft engineer that has worked on many of the UKs major defence systems, Sean brings with him first hand knowledge of Ministry of Defence contracts, Aviation Servicing and Maintenance practices and concequently an exiting new possiblity for OLC (Europe) Ltd to use those skills to take sales into new markets. With a passion for six-sigma and process based improvement work, provides Sean the energy and enthusiasm to continue his own learning and development in world class business and management techniques. Sean is a great addition to the OLC skill set and all the staff welcome him on board and wish him every success in his new career outside of the RAF.
November 2007 - Strategic Partnership Formed
Environmental Consultants Leyden Kirby Ltd and OLC (Europe) Ltd have signed a memorandum of agreement that will lead to the design, development and delivery of training courses in the fields of environmental consultancy and in particular within the areas of contaminated land. The combination OLC's experience in teaching and learning strategies, and the expert knowledge of the Leyden Kirby Group of companies in environmental sciences will bring a new dimension and new products to both companies' protfolios. The agreement was signed by Managing Director of OLC (Europe) Ltd, Dr Chris Bamber and Philip Kirby the LK Group Company Secretary.

August 2007 - OLC Offices Named 'Location of the Month'
Bolton County Police Station, known locally as the Castle Street police station, could soon establish itself as a favourite film location with movie makers. Although it ceased to be used as police station in October 2006 and was acquired by OLC (Europe) Ltd in May 2007, the Grade II listed building has been named film location of the month by Northwest Vision and Media and now it is being promoted for its big - and small - screen potential.
July 2007 - OLC Client Enjoys University Success.
OLC (Europe) Ltd corporate client, Vestas Blades (UK) Ltd trainees graduated from the University of Salford School of Management with Graduate Certificates in Management. Their graduation follows a series of bespoke training sessions and mentoring provided by OLC's training division. The event was attended by Vestas' senior managers and Dr Chris Bamber (Managing Director) & Professor John Sharp (Financial Director) of OLC.

July 2007 - OLC Acquire Prestigeous New Premises
In early July 2007 OLC (Europe) Ltd moved into prestigeous new premises in Bolton, Greater Manchester. OLC have acquired their 1000 sq.mtr Grade II listed building from the Greater Manchester Police Services. Phase 1 of a comprehensive renovation project has now been completed and further improvements for the building are planned for 2008. The new premises have dedicated common rooms for students, training rooms, meeting rooms and fully equipped ICT suites for use by trainees.

"These new premises are much bigger and more prestigious than the previous address. It will give us room for expansion, improvement and a better learning environment for our engineering academy".
