Space New Living Ltd - Bespoke Training

Space New Living Ltd is a housing association, which provides homes for rent, property management services, and house rentals in Greater Manchester.

Background
To build upon the company's success, Space initiated several projects to develop and encourage young people to reach their full potential through schemes such as New Deal, NVQ qualifications and other work/lifestyle training.

Learning Challenge
Space turned to OLC for a training solution to improve business performance within a turbulent and changing market, through the application of industry best practice, management tools and techniques.

The OLC Solution
OLC developed a bespoke 5 day training course that introduced several "best practice" management techniques.

OLC delivered a "Thinking Differently" training solution, over a 6 month period on site at Space New Living's head office in Salford. Every member of Space, including the CEO and Board of Directors, successfully completed the course (60 delegates in total).

Course Solution
"Thinking Differently" included modules that focused upon effective communication, teamwork, problem solving, project management and change management.

Key Interventions:

• A comprehensive analysis of Space's organisational knowledge  base and competencies highlighted key development areas, organisational and training needs
• The development of a 5 day bespoke training solution specifically tailored to addressing Space's needs
• Onsite training delivered by our qualified trainers during a 6 month period
• Ongoing support for improvement projects identified as a result of our training solution

Our approach helped to maximise both delegates understanding and retention of the material since it was specifically tailored to delivering and supporting live, ongoing work placement improvement.

These improvements played a key role in supporting the organisations successful bid for ISO 9001:2000.
