OLC's Dr Bamber cements agreements with key educational partners in Shanghai, Changzou and Wuhan.
Wuhan University confirm Dr Bamber to deliver conference speech on world quality issues; Dean Professor Cheng welcomes support and links that developing between the university and the Chartered Quality Institute, European Foundation for Quality Management and the American Society for Quality
Dr Chris Bamber recently visited three cities in China to develop further relationships with Chinese Universities, Colleges, Research Centres and Professional Institutes. On returning to the UK he said:
"My visit to Shanghai, Changzou and Wuhan will cement agreements with partners and build relationships in these three impressive commercial and industrial centres. The World-Expo in Shanghai was exceptional and represents a world-class achievement where countries have been present. Following the hosting of the 2008 Olympic Games, China once again show-cases an event that is the envy of the world."
Dr Chris Bamber has been invited by Professor Richard Cheng to Wuhan University as Visiting Professor to deliver a conference speech on world quality issues. The Dean Richard Cheng said:
"We welcome the support of OLC in the development of our Institute and in particular the links that can be made between our organisations and the Chartered Quality Institute, European Foundation for Quality Management and the American Society for Quality."
Chris's background in quality management; as the Manchester Branch Vice Chairman with the Chartered Quality Institute, as Quality Manager with Thorsman Co. UK Ltd, as Six Sigma Program Manager for the IQA (now CQI), as a Quality Improvement Consultant and having published many articles in this field and supervised PhD students' research into quality should make this an interesting presentation.
This recent visit followed on from a UKTI and CBBC (China British Business Collaboration) supported visit in November 2009 and Dr Chris Bamber's previous visit to Wuhan and a visit to the Great Wall in Beijing in 2007. Professor John Sharp of OLC has also made many exiting trips to China and business opportunities are progressing well. Chris and John are looking forward to supporting the China Government backed National Initiative, [Headed by the Institute of Quality Development Strategy of Wuhan University], which aims to develop a "Taxonomy of Quality" to help improve regional manufactured product quality across the whole of China.
